The workflow below can automate the required imposition for both business cards and postcards of any dimensions as long as those cards can be imposed in three columns.
Additionally, this workflow supports jobs requiring any print quantity.
The Split component separates the banner pages from the business card / postcard.
Banner workflow path
The banner pages are sent to the top branch. This branch will add 2 blank pages to the end of the document (these will be used for the second row of the layout)
The blanks are added after the last page. The dimensions of the inserted blanks will be based on the dimensions of the last page in the PDF which will allow this preset to work with jobs of any width and height
Business Card / Postcard workflow path
The imposition will impose pages in three columns with eah column having a third of the required pages.
This branch will adjust the file so that it has the number of pages required for a signle column using the following components
The workflow will first split the job into three jobs based on quantity. The quantity of the split jobs will be a third of the original quantity.
The workflow will then Insert Job Pages based on the job quantity.
At this point the workflow will have three jobs with business card pages. Only one job is needed. As such the first job is sent to a branch so that it can be joined with the banner pages and blanks.
The other jobs complete without further processing.
When the jobs are split they are put into a group. The Route component will simply send the second job back to join with the first job (the job with the banner and blank pages).
Final workflow path
Lastly, the job is imposed. The imposition is done in two stages.
The first stage imposes the job into a single column using a semi-automatic press sheet size.

Business card imposition requested during a demo.
The input to the workflow is 4 page business cards.
The first two pages are the business card.
The last two pages are a business card sized small banner page.
The customer would like these imposed 24up.
The first row of the first layout contains three copies of the banner page.
The second row contains blanks.
The remaining rows of the first and all other layouts contain the business cards. The number of imposed layouts would depend on the desried print quantity
