I just converted this using pdfToolbox (the Manage Color component uses pdfToolbox). The output looks correct (see attached).

I am enclosing the preflight profile that I used.

If the output from Manage Color does not match this output then there's a problem with how that component works. Can you submit this to the hotline?

I did a test, and Pitstop converted from color to grayscale better then Core does. That being said, could you tell me the best settings in Manage Color for grayscale conversion. Do I need Pitstop server to export my color to grayscale profile? I have a color to grayscale action list in Pitstop, but I cannot import that, so I am wondering how to go about bringing in a good color to grayscale profile.

Previous 'Manage Color' component used for color to grayscale conversion works for previous jobs but lately our customer meet with conversion problem on one of the job (attached). In this case some objects are black only (K 100%) and after this conversion it is converted into 95% Black. How to manage it and don't convert object if they are in Black only?

The screenshot in your post has Wide Gamut RGB as the Destination Profile.

The Manage Color component will convert the file to that color space. Are those the settings that you used?

If so, can you try selecting a grayscale profile?

The icon next to the profile name indicates whether the profile is grayscale, RGB or CMYK.

I would just add a preflight porifle to convert B/W from my workflow as the first step. Also in the image quality tab from nuvera, select only 600 dpi as oppose to 1200 dpi as your image quality.

I'm looking for solution how to configure FFcore to convert color files to grayscale for better output results on Nuvera printers.

For testing I use testfile which contain color information inside:

At the beginning I use 'Manage Color' component and select 'All Objects Using ICC Profiles' conversion methodology

but this method doesn't work - testfile still contains color:

The questions is: what I should select in this component to convert all color information to grayscale?

I use another method - I use "Preflight" component and Callas PDFtoolbox 7.x conversion profile (*.kfpx), the results are great!

 

But when I use the same profile but from newest version of PDFtoolbox (v8) some error occured during converion - Internal error in library.

Conslusion: PDFtoolbox 8.x profiles are not support, yet!
