Re: Core and csv Data files

I had a similar issue at the start when going towards CSV MAX Status submission,

CSV

Row A1 = title File Name

Row A2  = 12345.pdf

This file name will reference a file name of 12345 in your ‘Default source location’ and find the file name 12345

Row B1 = Qty

Bow B2 = 5

Save it out as CSV ( comma ) via Microsoft Excel

  • MAX file is located such as C:\Hotfolders\CSVExport

Select send job to a single work flow.

  • Build your workflow ( just use a simple save pre-set to desktop to make sure your getting a PDF back out.

MAX SETUP

  • Set priority to Normal
  • Make sure file name is in A (Standard fields)
  • Quantity is B (Standard fields)
  • Default source location ( just keep this local for the time being) before adding network and drives into it to make sure it works.

Manifest processing

Column delimiter:  Set as a ,

Text qualifier: None

Untick – process the first row as data

Tick the 2 underneath.

- Drop the CSV file into the hot folder and a new MAX STATUS should appear.

If its says .Satus its successfully pulled the file into FFC it should be where you asked it to save the file

If it says .Status. Error open it and it should tell you why

Re: Core and csv Data files

Thanks for getting back to me,

Unfortunately the MAX setup in the Hot Folder window is greyed out so I am unable to attempt any form of test.

Is there a way I can enable this feature??

Re: Core and csv Data files

The trial license should give you all FFC modules. The manifest configuration is done in the hot folder setup.

As as to your specific question: when you use manifest submission each row in the CSV must point to a job file. All other mapped fields in the Csv are submitted as variables that are associated with the job. As such you can add data from the manifest in the watermark component using the following syntax: $FF<manifest field name>$

Core and csv Data files

Hi

I am currently trialing Freeflow Core and have a project lined up that includes incorporating a field of data from a supplied csv file onto the front cover of my job.

Is there a way that Core can process my csv file adding the required data to my job as it goes through my workflow? I would be submitting numerous pdfs at a time as a job group but cannot see how Core would know what code to print on the associated pdf?

As I am trialing It doesn't give me access to the Manifest options to test, but is this the area in which I would be able to configure this?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

LJ
