FFC 6.2.0 Service account can't connect SQL database

Hello Ken,
thank you for solution. I did no see attached document never. Be sure I will save it! In meantime I solved situation with SQL Management studio, simply compare user rights for Administrator and for service account. Now it works. Thank you very much for help. Martin

Ok, so the attached Installation directions outline how to 1) add the new windows user to the SQL database access, and then 2) mapping the permissions for this user to the SQL database. These changes will require the download and installation of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to make these updates.  The link to download the latest SQL Server management studio is here:

Hello Ken,

thank you for quick response. Based on your answer there are my answers:

1. I am use clean version Win 2016 server. There is installed .NET4.8 like additional sw only.

2. I use FFC 6.2.0 + databse used in FFC istallator. When DB is installed (select windows authentification) OS is restarted and than I run FFC install from begining.

3. for Service account I use let say "service" user. This user is defined in OS like local account and is member of Users + Administrators group.

4. Due to troubles I checked to install FFC from Administrator account as well as from "service" user account. Result is same - FFC can't connect to databse after restart.

5. Does not mather if I select service account at installation step (in a beginning of installation) or later, when FFC is installed.

6. Always, when I revert FFC into "local" account is all right. I have tried to compare another FFC installation with this one, however all seems to be same.

It is very strange. Over my 10 years experiences with FFC (well it was FF Connect first) I did not see same issue.

This should have NOTHING to do with the Trial version. The issue typically has to do with the user account you are trying to switch it over to use.  It also can be related to 'how' you installed the SQL database (settings used).  But start with the easy stuff.  first, the account that you are trying to change it to - MUST - be a local administrator on the FreeFlow Core server. If not, then you will quickly get messages and errors like this. So start by setting the user account as an admin.  After that try again. If it doesnt come up then you have 2 options:  1) contact hotline and they can probably assist with the issue(s) attaching to the SQL database.  or 2) you can always uninstall all of core AND uninstall the SQL database app and then do a registry clean (wipe out all the leftover info) and also make sure to check any leftover files in program files etc get removed. Then you can do a FRESH install of FreeFlow Core. This time, during the installation process, specify to use your specific user during the install rather than configuration afterwards.  The user must still be a local admin.

Dear colleaguas

I would like to kindly ask you for help with FFC 6.2.0 Trial installation (Win server 2016). With basic default installation is all right, however when try to switch FreeFlow Core Services Account (by FFC Configure) from "Local" to another then after restart I record "Error in connecting to SQL server" (at web browser).

I tested version 6.2.0 as well as newest 6.2.5 installation. Both version have same problem.

Do you have please an idea how to fix it?
