Re: File saving as PDF/VT

Jump to solution

Thanks David,

I have updated the workflow as suggested by Jyri with an optimisation node to resave as non PDFx 4. The help explaination certainly explains the issue succinctly, thanks.

Thanks

Simon

This could be the source of the issue, from HELP:

Join and PDF/vt jobs

When joining PDF/vt and PDF files, the PDF files are joined as a record within a PDF/vt file. Additionally, the PDF files must be PDF/x-4 compliant.

When joining PF/x-4 files the resultant PDF will be a PDF/vt with each PDF file defined as a record

Thanks Jryi, I will give that a go as soon as Freeflow is working again, it is down at the moment.

If you have PDF/X-4 files and you join them together using Core, these are joined to make a PDF/VT file.

If you don't want to have PDF/VT, you can use an optimise node at the begenning of the workflow to convert the files to PDF/X-3 for example - then if you join the files together, the resulting file will not be PDF/VT.

File saving as PDF/VT

Jump to solution

Hello,

I have a workflow where PDFs are being saved as PDF/VT files, so when we are pulling them into our Fiery Rip they are causing problems. I have checked the settings in the workflow and PDF/VT is not selected. Has anyone any ideas why this could be?
