Re: Help with routing component, 'Sides Images' to route simplex and duplex jobs to different printe

So I am using Core version 6.2.6 and have attached a workflow that functions fine. It very much looks like yours. I set the output to a save destination and have the save node appending the filename with which path the job took.

The issue may be how you are submitting the jobs for testing. To test, submit via the Core GUI, select Job Management and Status, Submit job.  Then after selecting your print file, then you can select the checkbox at the bottom for OVERRIDE JOB TICKET SETTINGS. On the right side you can select Sides Imaged: 1 sided or 2 sided etc.  So this way you know the attribute is being correctly set. If a file is just 'submitted' without the override then it has NO property for this unless it gets defined like in Impose.

And as I stated in the other reply the Global print driver will NOT drive any ticketing into FreeFlow Core. Please review that post and the attachment there for a print driver recommendation that will work.

Unzip the attached file for the .ffc file

Re: Help with routing component, 'Sides Images' to route simplex and duplex jobs to different printe

Great to see you have the print driver workflow going. I have attached a document I put together documenting the whole process. One key thing to point out to you - the Global Driver will NOT provide ANY job ticketing at all. You must use specific drivers to do that. I suggest one in the document. I will look at the rest of your routing to see what I might be able to suggest.

Help with routing component, 'Sides Images' to route simplex and duplex jobs to different printers?

I am having difficulty with the routing component in a workflow.

The intent of the routing component is to route 1-sided (simplex) documents to printer A and 2-sided (duplex) documents to printer B, with all jobs that do not have a ‘sides imaged’ job property specified being routed to printer A.

The routing component in the workflow doesn’t appear to be recognizing the ‘sides imaged’ job property of print submitted to it. Print is submitted to this workflow uses the ‘Xerox Global Print Driver PostScript’ print driver, but I’ve test using both ‘Submit Job’ and the ‘Xerox Global Print Driver PostScript’ print driver. All of the print I’ve submitted to the workflow for testing has been identified as ‘All Other Jobs’.

Routing Rules -
Job Characteristics
1 Sided: Conditions – Set 1 – Sides Images is 1 Sided (Any Condition in the Set May be Met)
2 Sided: Conditions – Set 1 – Sides Images is 2 Sided (Any Condition in the Set May be Met)
All Other Jobs

I have attached screenshots of my workflow and the routing process component. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
