Hotfolder to Server

How exactly do I set up a hotfolder so that I can send files to our server?

Re: Hotfolder to Server

Administration -> Hot Folders.

You can manage hot folders there. Each hot folder points to a location from which files will be picked up.

If the location is in the FFCore server everything works out of the box Share that folder using windows functionality and people can drop files in there for processing.

If the location is in another server then you have to reconfigure FFCore to use a service account. Details are in the installation guides. http://www.support.xerox.com/support/core/documentation/enin.html

Each hot folder points to one or more workflows. These are configured in the Workflow Destinations tab in the hot folder setup.

There are other options but the above is the most nominal configuration.

What is the path to the hotfolders? Can't find them.

Path to Hot Folders directory should be similar to the following: installdrive:\Xerox\FreeFlow\Core\Data\00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000\Data\Hot Folders

Re: Hotfolder to Server

I was able to add a share folder and have the Core hotfolders on my desktop ready to go. Where do the files go when I drop them into the hotfolder, and how do I direct those files somewhere specific.

Re: Hotfolder to Server

They go to the workflow destination selected in the hot folder configuration.

You can create multiple hot folders to submit to different workflows. Alternatively you can select a workflow based on the job characteristics.

One thing to note, if you drop files in a hot folder most of the job characteristics (e.g. print ticket, JMF, MAX, etc.) will not be defined.

Re: Hotfolder to Server

I am not understanding. I did all that and the file is not there. Wouldn't the file go to the File location in the Save Node?

Re: Hotfolder to Server

Right... the files are picked up and processed through the workflow. If you have a Save node at the end then they will be in the Save Destinations folder in the sandbox folder (drive:\path\to\folder\00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000\Data\)
