Re: Imposing 17up portrait and landscape pages together with gutter on only 1 column

Ok, so without at least the Automated Prepress OR the Advanced Automation license there will be no way to get what you want done in Core.

Yes, you can impose with a Dutch cut and get the 'rough' layout you want on your sheet size, but you will not be able to control the gutters independently like you want. With just the base you only have 2 options - 1) all cards directly adjacent to each other (no gutters) or 2) all cards have the same gutter.

I was able to build a workflow to your specs using only the Advanced Prepress license. I was also able to build a workflow using just the Advanced Automation license. Both of those workflows run in 5.1.2.0 with at least one of those licenses. But I suppose it wont help you.

Re: Imposing 17up portrait and landscape pages together with gutter on only 1 column

If you can log into the Windows OS (server) then there is an application on the system called FreeFlow Core Exchange. If you can open that there are 2 tabs at the top (import / export). Select the Export tab.  Then in the window below you select what you want to export. So you can open 'workflows' then click on the name of your workflow. Then in the middle of the window click on 'Add' to move it to the right.  Then at the bottom select the button to 'Export'.  Then zip it and upload.

I am generating a VM with your software version right now for testing.

I have never exported a workflow from Core. What is the process? Sorry, my administrator is on vacation.

See if you can upload your workflow as a .zip attachment. I will see what I am able to do without having Advanced Automation and Advanced Prepress licenses. It will have to be done differently. I will try to go back to an older version of Core that you have as well.

Re: Imposing 17up portrait and landscape pages together with gutter on only 1 column

We are running FreeFlow Core 5.1.2.0, and do not have the Advanced Prepress and Advanced Automation licenses.

I looked at the PDF's you sent and you nailed it; interpreted exactly what I was looking for. I will give it a go and try build it with the info you sent. Looks like I was on the money when comparing to your screenshot of the workflow, so not quite sure where I'm going wrong.

Re: Imposing 17up portrait and landscape pages together with gutter on only 1 column

Thank you for your quick response!

Attached is a screenshot of the layout I am trying to build. The card is 3.5" x 8", printing 17up on a 29.5" x 20.8125" sheet using a Dutch imposition. This is for one of our HP Indigo digital presses. The layout attached, I exported directly from InDesign, but would prefer to add a Core Workflow for this for obvious reasons. As you can see, this is somewhat of an odd layout. Our cutters would love to work with this layout, so I would like to honor their request.

Thank you,

Please still clarify sheet size.  However attached is a prototype for you. 2 different methods of imposition / assembly (2 different but similar workflows). To import you must be on Core version 6.2.8 and you must have the Advanced Prepress and Advanced Automation licenses. If you are on an older version, please tell me what that version is and I can try to save it out to that version for you.

Output samples are in the .zip file

Guessing just based on size of input these should be about right, but final adjustments may be needed when I learn your desired sheet size.

What sheet size is this going on? I think we can do it, but need to confirm what the final output should look like and what kind of device is this going on (because of the odd sheet size required for this many up of this size card). Do you have a picture of your desired output to share (even a mock up is fine). Need to understand how many rows/columns you want for the 15 up landscape cards.

Imposing 17up portrait and landscape pages together with gutter on only 1 column

Is there a way to impose a single 3.5x8" card 17up on 1 sheet with 15 of the cards landscape, and cards 16 & 17 layed out portrait. This works good using Auto with 90º Rotate, but what we want to do is have a .75" gutter between the 2 portrait cards and the 15 landscape cards which will not have a gutter.
