Thanks for the reply, but as I mentioned in my original post we have only the basic level of Freeflow Core - as was recommended by the XMP sales team. An additional $5k to rotate pages is a little outside of the budget right now after the money we've already spent on XMP software and development / implementation costs. As a 30 year industry professional, the one part of this whole solution that I have been underwhelmed with is Freeflow Core. The basic version is not even as good as the Firey imposition app in my opinion.
Thanks again for your reply!
If you have the Advanced PrePress license, you can use the Rotate node. The below example rotates the odd pages 90 degrees CCW. You could 2 Rotate nodes -- one for odd pages, one for even pages.
We have huge client with recurring program work, and the client always proofs the actual imposed print PDFs. We recently switched from Fusion Pro server to XMPie / uProduce, and are now using FF Core for imposition. This particular monthly job is around 300,000 records of 11x8.5 bifold mailers. For producion purposes we splt the job into 800 records per print file, so I have 375 print files which are all from 80 - 200mb each.
The mailers are 11"x8.5" landscape format. The client and our digital press operators want the imposition to be set up so the press sheet is landscape (19" wide x 12.5" tall) with the front side having the head of the finished products facing to the left, and the back side having the head of the finished products facing right. If I were on press looking at this I would call it a work & turn layout with the gripper being the 19" edge, in "digital press speak" I'm looking for it to flip on the short edge.
All I can get FF Core to do is a portrait style layout where the press sheet will flip on the long edge. This is not acceptable for production, and more importantly for the client. I could accomplish my end goal by rotating all the odd pages CCW 90 degrees and all the even pages CW 90 degrees, but doing that a file at a time or even trying to script it is not scaleable for the project. We need the imposition to come out of FF Core ready to go into the proofing and production process with no additional processing needed. I've tried literally every combination of settings I can find in FF Core with no success.
I do not have Pitstop Server or any other way to manipulate the PDF files in an automated fashion, so I'm hoping that I am just missing something stupid here. We have the base FF Core module only.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!
