About Imposition: That option was added after v4.0.2.0. If you download the current version (v4.0.3.0) you will see that option in imposition.
Note: You will need to download a new license file as we had a format change in the licensing for the Variable Data module.
About Barcode:
You are correct - when you add the variables you will have the option to specify the addition of leading zeroes
I am not seeing the option in the imposition node to apply to each varaible data record.
Current version of Core is 4.0.2.0 [2015.05.18 9865 01.04]
Is this option available in this version or do I need to update?
Also the barcode needs to contain the record number (6 digits), sheet number (2 digits), total sheets (2 digits)
e.g. 0000010102, 0000010202 (for first record) then 0000020102, 0000020202 (for second record), etc.
I assume I would use <Record Number><Sheet Number in Signature><Number of Sheets in Signature> to achieve this? Adding leading zeroes as necessary.
The submitted file will contain 1000 8pp records as an example.
As Jyri mentioned, the Apply to Each Variable Data Record option in Imposition and Barcode will ensure each record is treated as if it was a separate file. That option is within the Placement tab in the barcode component.
The Variable Data module, which now works with PDF/vt includes Job Group Imposition and Barcode. This will allow you to do the barcodes and imposition, without needing to split the document.
Under barcode, you can set the code data from the VI records:
With impose node you can apply to job group by enabling the VI processing
Xerox suppllied a document for creating integrity barcodes for my Duplo finisher which I followed. Submitting PDF-VT from XMPie the workflow breaks the file into record sets based on variable data redord (1-9, 10-99, 100-999, etc.). A second looping split again on variable data record should split this output into indivdual records for imposition and adding the barcode. The second split is braking into single pages as if the output from the first split is no longer PDF-VT and contains no record data. Is this possible with Core.
My aim is two split each record, impose for saddle stitch, add the barcode outside of the bleed area and then recombine in the same order.
We used to be able to do this straight from our Kodak Nexpress front end at imposition stage but this is not a feature of thr Fiery RIP.
