Newbie here: I want to output a print file and a cut file?

A .kpf (fixup) file can be added directly at C:\Xerox\FreeFlow\Core\00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000\Data\Profiles on the FFCore system. Or one can use the FFCore Preflight node capability to upload a fixup -- see below.

How can I import KFP files? Currently going through Administration > Core Exchange. But getting the message "This FreeFlow Core Export file was made with a newer version of Core exchange and cannot be imported"

You need to check where your “Save 3” preset saves the files. This is where your print file including Art work and 3 dots will be saved.

To make your workflow easier you can keep this in one workflow. You will not need a Split component or save to a new workflow..

1. Put the 3 dots on to the print file
2. Save the file using your “Save 3” or use a Print component (or you can do both save and print) 
3. Remove all objects using the Preflight profile “Remove any object”
4. Add trimline using the Preflight profile “Trimline v5”
5. Put the 3 dots on to the print file
6. Save this file using “Save Icut File”

I'm trouble shooting as i'm posting to try to learn this powerful new software :D

I realized i can simply paste the folder location into the text input box instead of using the interface

My workflows look like this right now while not using split:

The image below is my workflow that adds dots onto the print file, and saves it to the Hot Folder

The image below is my workflow for the above hot folder, that will "remove any object" and "add trim line" and save out the file:

The problem right now is that i'm able to get a cut file with a rectangle + 3 dots, but i can't get my print file that has the artwork + 3 dots

Any ideas?

We saved as a PDF with bleeds setup out of illustrator, and used the fixup on Artbox and the rectangle works well now thank you!

just need to know how to work this without using split...

I'm trying to do a workflow without using Split since we don't have that module.

On the "printfile" workflow, the save component forces me to save in a "save destinations" folder

In the "hot folders" administration window, i can only create hot folders in the "hot folders" folder,

How can i allow my save destination to be a hot folder, and vice versa?

The EPS file does not keep the Trim box it only has a Bounding box and a crop box which are the same size. When FF Core convert this to a PDF all pdf boxes are the same size (as you can see if you convert with Distiller). You need to save as PDF with bleed from Illustrator to get the different trim and bleed box in your file. An alternative, if you need to use EPS is to use offset set relative to the crop box in the preflight fix from Stefan.
