It sounds like the printers were not developed with the intent of supporting the IPP communication with Core (thus not on the supported printers list).
However, this does NOT stop you from using the printers with Core. It only means you cannot communicate and setup via the standard IPP. You could set the print node to use LPR for example and then select if you want Core to send PS or PDF to the device etc.
You of course will then only have very limited 'options' to control print functionality but the jobs would get there.
From the problem description, it appears that the VersaLink is not supplying the IPP information expected/required for FFCore. One could try an update to the VersaLink SW.
Is there a reason that FFCore will not connect with Xerox VersaLink printers? We have 4 of the VersaLink B405's and none of them will respond to FFCore during printer setup. All connection types are active (IPP etc..) and they are all static IP addresses. I realize they are not listed in supported printers for core but works fine on the AltaLinks printers which aren't listed either. It's like the VersaLinks IPP connection isn't responding to FFCore with what it expects.
Error Message: Unable to retrieve the printer's information. An error occurred while identifying the printer name or type. Verify that the printer name is setup according to the Administrator's guide.
Running FFCore 6.2.4.
