Re: Old Color Splitter features possible with FFC ?

Since you are running a trial license, I am not sure that Xerox support could/would help. I would suggest contacting Xerox sales, they would be interested in solving the problem if a FreeFlow Core sale was possible.

Re: Old Color Splitter features possible with FFC ?

When I run the Color Split node using 6.1.4, I see the following in the xpif:

<media-key syntax="name" xml:space="preserve">mymy</media-key>

See the node setup below:

If the color stock information is not being honored by the EFI, my suspicion is the EFI is losing the information.

Re: Old Color Splitter features possible with FFC ?

Hi David

I did some tests this morning at customer, defining first Print module in WF and then printing jobs directly from FFc to Fiery.

It worked as you explained me. Thanks for that !

In Fiery Hold queue I got BW job with a list of inserting pages in Mixed media tab.

The "only" thing I missed is the name of Color Insert Stock (defined it in Color Split Component as : MonSupportCouleur)

When I check jdf ticket previously produced I can see there is a "ProductID="MonSupportCouleur"" defined but not honored in my case.

Is it a limitation with IPP/xpif <-> Fiery integration or do you know a workaround for it ?

Thanks in advance for your answer

Regards

Eric

Re: Old Color Splitter features possible with FFC ?

Hi again

Thanks for your answer.

Good question why Iridesse is used for that purpose...

Well, I'm freelancer working on project for one of my customers.

In real life there will be one color + B&W engines involved, but for my tests I have "only" an Iridesse at customer site available.

I will try sending jobs to Iridesse using IPP then and let you know

Regards

Eric

Re: Old Color Splitter features possible with FFC ?

EFI/Irredesse supportes xpif. EFI supports xpif for Xerox production print systems.

I am having trouble understanding why one would use color split with EFI/Irredesse -- just send one job.

Re: Old Color Splitter features possible with FFC ?

Thanks for your quick answer !

Just to be sure to understand :

- If I submit JDF (Via Fiery Hot folder) it wont work

- But If I submit files to Fiery/Iridesse via IPP/xpif it should work ?

But what about xpif ? It insn't supported by Fiery ?

Waiting for your answer

Re: Old Color Splitter features possible with FFC ?

If one is submitting to an Irredesse, IPP/xpif should be used to communicate job ticketing. It should work.

As for using JMF/JDF with Color Split, it is not supported. From the FFCore Release notes:

Under Non-Xerox Printers

...

The Color Split component is not supported.

Re: Old Color Splitter features possible with FFC ?

Hi

I've installed a demo version of FFC on my laptop and use Color Splitter.

As expected it generates 2 jdf files and split job in 2 files .

As I said I'm running my tests on Fiery for Iridesse (FS350 Pro).

Unfortunately , despite InsertSheet JDF command in JDF tickets there is no mixmedia nor media name defined in job properties (on Fiery Command Workstation)

Hope you could help me

Regards

Eric

I can send you jdf tickets and my job
