Jamie,
How did you correct the issue? Did you work with EFI to fix, or was it a configuration on Core? Any information is appreciated. I'm having similar issue.
Regards,
Bee
The ticket FFCore sent has the following:
Coating
<media-back-coating syntax="keyword">glossy</media-back-coating>
<media-front-coating syntax="keyword">glossy</media-front-coating>
These should map to coated paper.
Media Size (in hundredths of a mm)
<media-size syntax="collection">
<x-dimension syntax="integer">33000</x-dimension>
<y-dimension syntax="integer">48200</y-dimension>
</media-size>
These should map to 13 x 19 paper (the above are the values we get from the Fiery so they should accept them even if they need a little rounding).
I would get support involved and start with figuring out why the DFE is not accepting the above media settings.
Here is the xpif file info, are you able to confirm if the paper catalogue stock value should be included in this?
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

</media-col>
<sheet-collate syntax="keyword">uncollated</sheet-collate>
<sides syntax="keyword">two-sided-long-edge</sides>
</job-template-attributes>
</xpif>
It seems all other info is being returned based on the default media stock in the printer settings.
I am leaning more towards a Fiery concern, since I think I have tried everything in FreeFlow Core.
Jamie
I just checked the xpif, and it shows "stationery" under media-type, which is probably why it is printing 8.5" x 11". The weight is showing 198, which is the weight setting in the Paper catalogue, but also shows "none" for media-back-coating and media-front-coating, should those have values if we are printing on coated 2 sided paper?
Do you know if these values would be coming from the Fiery or FreeFlow?
Jamie
The hotline will want a serial number for FFCore. However, if you save the XPIF and the stock name is there then the issue is likely to be in the Fiery. You should be able to call the hotline for that.
I would suggest contacting your local analyst as well.
Can I call the hotline when using Demo software? Not sure if they usually connect remotely or not, we haven't setup anything for this yet.
I will try what you are suggesting, thanks.
Jamie
Ultimately, the hotline will need to take a look
Two things:
Please make sure to escalate this to the hotline so we can help chase the problem down.
In the meanwhile, I suggest you add a Save component to the workflow.
Place it after the print component and ensure you are saving the workflow job ticket
This should save the PDF and an XPF file. Open this XPIF file in WordPad and look for the name of the stock. if the name is in the XPIF file then FFCore is sending that value to the DFE. That should help narrow down the issue.
Hello,
I have installed a demo of FreeFlow Core (4.0.2.2) but am having issues getting jobs to print automatically to the correct stock loaded in a tray.
We have a stock loaded in the Paper Catalogue, it is assigned to Tray 6 on a Versant 80, the FreeFlow Print settings for the Versant 80 have the stock selected as the Main Stock in the Job Ticket Details (and show a green arrow), but this value is not being sent with the job.
The override stock name doesn't work, and no Job Ticket settings are being saved when trying to override the default Job Ticket settings.
If we edit the job properties on the Versant 80 and select the stock from the Paper Catalogue drop down it works, but cannot have this value sent with the job.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jamie
