Re: Pdf with multi layer to one pdf per layer

Alternate (and more direct approach).

After making two additional copies of the job, use the Remove Page Objects fixups to generate the required files

For example

For trhe 3D content use the following fixup to remove all spots but the Scodix spot color

The preflightr check looks at the spot color name

Screen Shot 2017-07-10 at 2.34.25 PM.png

After this fixup is applied, the job file will contain content that's either CMYK or the Scodix spot color.

As such, a second fixup should be applied to remove the CMYK content

Preflight check

The Cut layer uses the same approach. The only difference is the spot color names in the first preflight check

Screen Shot 2017-07-10 at 2.38.39 PM.png

Lastly, to retain only the print content, use a single fixup to remove all spot colors used by the finisher

Preflight check

The preflight check should also have the following option checked

Re: Pdf with multi layer to one pdf per layer

I received the sample file via email

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 2.55.35 PM.png

The file contains the following separations

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 2.55.58 PM.png

The desired output is three files:

  • 3D - objects from Scodix separation
  • Cut - objects from Cut and Crease separations
  • Content - all other objects except for the Outside Bleed separation

The following workflow can perform the required content separation

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 2.59.36 PM.png

The split component makes three copies of the job file by sending all job pages to each of the branches

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 3.00.29 PM.png

The Separate into Layers applied a preflight profile which will separate the content of interest into layers via a preflight profile.

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 3.13.34 PM.png

The profile has 5 fixups to move content into designated layers

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 3.01.51 PM.png

There are two types of preflight checks used to put content into specific layers:

Four of the checks evaluate the spot color names for the objects in order to map specific separations into their own layer.

3D Layer Content preflight check:

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 3.03.48 PM.png

The final preflight check looks for content that's not a spot color

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 3.05.16 PM.png

The result of the first preflight is a PDF in which separations have been mapped to the required layers.

The second preflight will remove extraneous content for each of the job components.

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 3.13.57 PM.png

This is done by removing layers that contain unwanted content. The content within those layers is also removed

Screen Shot 2017-06-13 at 3.07.22 PM.png

The result is the following files:

Content

Cut

Pdf with multi layer to one pdf per layer

Hello everyone.

We are going to be on the w2p market with Xmpie. (ustore and uproduce)

Actually, our company uses 2 different machines with different layers.
Our fist machine is the Scodix Ultra, it's only for varnish and gilding.
This machine work with separate pdf which include a single spot color.

For example, if the customer wants 3D varnish on his printing campaign, we will make a pdf with the CMYK, layer and the varnish layer called "3D".
After the printing process, we will extract the layer "3D" which contains the spot colors to make a separate PDF.
This PDF will be read on our machine.
And it's working with 2 layers for this one ; "Dorure" and "3D"

Our second machine is Highcon Euclid 2.
Same process described above, but with the layer "Cut" which contains two spot colors ; "Cut" and "Crease".

Is Free flow Core support this type of operation ?

Because Xmpie prepresse use Free Flow Core, and we would like to know if it support this or not.

If not, is it possible to create a flow flor this ?
