When the engne goes into PowerSaver mode the Fiery DFE is advertising the print engine as being down (SNMP status = 5).
We escalated this as a bug to EFI. However, if you have the inclunation I would suggest that you escalate to EFI as well.

I just saw this thread and figured I would add some comments as I had something similar (maybe exactly the same) that I got resolved.
So the first and most important thing is to please UPGRADE to the most current version of Core (currently 4.0.2.0). I had the issue you described in an older version of Core and submitted it to be fixed.
Basically what was happening to me was that if the printer (in my case an iGen4) went into Power Save mode (nothing wrong with the printer and it was NOT offline or down in any way) the Core software would essentially DISABLE submission of files to the Fiery. The software was reading the data from the Fiery incorrectly and showed the printer as "offline".
This was addressed for me in one of the more recent software versions and definitely works for me in 4.0.2.0
A few things:
I would use this as a workaround to enable printing in the short term: http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/FreeFlow-Core/LPR-from-FFCore/m-p/39843#M35
Please escalate this to the hotline: 1-800-821-2797
They will ask for your FFC serial number.
Go to the Printer Management and Status screen. Edit the printer destination and refresh printer information. If FFCore can talk to the printer then you will be able to pull an updated list of print ticket options. FFCore will also disable submission if print submission will not be successful. This could happen because the IP address has changed but it could also happen because the queue has changed or because the queue is not accepting jobs.
You can also hover over the printer on the left and select the option to edit printer settings. This will give you the opportunity to disable the pause / resume behavior based on SNMP.
However, I would escalate to the hotline.
Hi,
Did you end up getting this fixed.
We're having the same issue.
The printer status on the left is OK (green tick).
However all the printer destinations on the right are Disabled
The "resume submission' button is greyed out
We're using a Versant2100
We only got Free Flow installed a week ago. Haven't been able to properly use it. As we keep getting this issue. (It only works randomly)
We monitor the print engine state via SNMP and pause submission to the printer if it is reported as being "down".
I don't recall all the gory details on this behavior. Please escalate this to the hotline.
A customer has an issue printing to their Fiery Versant from FFC 4.0.1.0. The printer can be reached through a Print node and all seems ok (all paper stocks can be viewed etc.). In Printer Management and Status however the printer is disabled and the Resume Submission button is greyed out. There is also a Submission Status message that says Printer Needs Attention. I can find no info in the Help guide describing this message in more detail and there is nothing on the Fiery saying that it needs attention. Both the Fiery and FFC have been rebooted. Any great ideas?
