Re: Query FFCore db

This place does empty a bit during the holidays. We are all back and you should've gotten access by now.

I'll email the person in charge and cc you in the email.

Re: Query FFCore db

Periodically. the interval adjusts automatically based on user interaction. There are also different sets of timing rules for different types of information. Validation against cached information is done continuously.

We introduced the times (and also some communication caps) as we found too much chatter could cause issues with some DFEs.

Jmf information is in the SDK: https://www.xerox-solutions.net/developers

you can can sign up. There is no cost as long as you do not want development support. The SDK has information on JMF (which is really HTTP with XML files) and samples with comments.

Re: Query FFCore db

Periodically vs Continually. I use similar queries in uStore to produce perodical valiadations of data and conformity.

Any information on querying via JMF? That is not something I've done before.

Re: Query FFCore db

To be honest I am not sure. Not all information is retained in the database. Presets in particular I think may exist in whole or in part in the filesystem. Not sure there is a single place you may query for this information.

The database is open adm you know the credentials so it would be possible to look around and see what you may be able to extract. However, this would be officially unsupported.

also, job ticket validation is done real time against cached printer destination information. The printer destination information is refreshed prerioducally. However, the rate of refresh is managed to minimize traffic to the DFE.

You can query via JMF and get a full list of media for all printer destinations (and plenty of other device capabilities). You may be better off performing this query periodically and keeping the information to compare to see what has changed over time.

is the expectation that the stock libraries in the DFEs will change continually?

Query FFCore db

Hello all (Javier) :)

Is it safe to read-only query the dbs for core?

I've run into an issue where we're updating papers as I'm updating workflows and some of my defined stocks are dissappearing from the printer presets because they're being removed/changed at the destination.

What I have in mind is creating a query that would produce a list for me which points out which printer destinations are assigned to 'printer default' for stock or have a job ticket warning. Do you think this would work?

Thanks!
