More information from the FFCore 5.4 Release Notes on browser support:
Current versions of modern browsers from Apple®, Google®, Microsoft® and Mozilla®
Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge are not supported. Support for Microsoft’s Chromium-based Edge browser is limited to ‘best-effort’ until the official Microsoft Launch.
Browsers older than one year are not supported. To avoid compatibility issues, always use the latest version of the browser.
Always use desktop computer browsers. Mobile device browsers may exhibit display issues.
This is working as of Version 5.3
As a side note it no longer works in Windows if you use IE but does work with Chrome.
I'm being told Freeflow Core will be html5 based in future. The date I was given is August 5th. We shall see…
From What I understand Xerox has been looking at this for close to a year now.
This is not just a Safari issue as Silverlight is not being supported in MicorSofts new browser either so I beleave it is an end of life product so Xeox needs to find a replacment and FAST.
I am just in the process of converting from FF Process Manager to Core and I have a new Mac so I am kind of in a pickle out of the Gate.
Three months have gone by and still no solution for current brower versions on Mac?!? Xerox is lagging behind the curve in addressing this issue. When will this be resolved? If Freeflow core is not being updated to match current software interface will it be discontinued?
With the introduction of Safari 12, Apple removed support for running most legacy NPAPI plug-ins, including Microsoft Silverlight, which is required to run FreeFlow Core in the Safari Browser.
FreeFlow Core continues to be supported on Safari 9.0.2 or higher up to and including Safari 11.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.9 or higher, as well as Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.0 and higher.
As an alternative, Mac users may also use FireFox ESR release 52.9 without the maintenance service as follows:
- Activate Silverlight.
- Select “Allow” and “Remember.”
During this period until FreeFlow Core support for Safari is reintroduced, ensure that you do not select the Firefox “Check for updates button,” and do not upgrade past ESR release 52.9.
