The manifest is one manifest. Two different Max setups needed for one manifest.
The decision is to use the sell quantity to produce 1 copy of a 258 page pdf to reach the sell quantity of a single item that is 258 pages.
or
use the sheetsplus overs quantity to produce 50 sheets of 4up postcards to reach the sell quantity of 100 postcards.
We have 55 items out of 2500 that need the 2nd Max setup. So I am pulling the 55 products out by using a route node that directs those 55 products to a save node. But I need the information in the original manifest to flow through to the 2nd Max setup and 2nd workflow.
route node -> save node OR run the first workflow which uses sheetsplusovers as print quantity
save node moves image to hot folder that kicks off 2nd workflow. 2nd workflow uses sell quantity as print quantity
Let me make sure that I understand correctly: You have one workflow but have manifests with 2 different arrangements for the data (e.g. one has quantity in column F and another has it in column G). Aside from that you want to process everything through the same workflow.
You only need one workflow.
Have 2 hot folders point to the same workflow - each hot folder can have a different MAX configuration. Once the jobs are in the workflow it does not matter how the data was organized in the manifests.
We have the need to drop a manifest into a hot folder, but give that manifest two different MAX treatments. Our quantity of products varies across two fields, column F and Column G.
Our primary workflow would use a MAX setup that uses column F as the quantity and would immdiately use a Route Node, which would direct the jobs to only a save node. The save node would be pointed to a 2nd FFCore hotfolder
The 2nd workflow with a different MAX setup, thus pulling column G as the quantity, would then kick off the same workflow thus copied.
Our challenge has been that we use a manifest that includes many parameters to include the stock, stock dimensions, simplex, duplex, output device, etc.
How do I convert my 2nd hotfolder to using a XPIF or JDP input, and do either/both of those carry all of the information from my original manifest?
