Re: VIPP2PDF

So to use a different xgfc location you will need to append the new location to a file named xgfdos.run

This file is located at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Xerox\VIPP\xvinip\bin\xgf\src\xgfdos.run

I propose you make a backup copy first. I suggest you dont change existing content in the file, but rather ADD a line to the code probably in the SETPPATH section. Something like this (change it to show your actual path):

(D:\\xgfc\\$$FOLDER.\\$$PROJECT.\\) % project local paths

Re: VIPP2PDF

Ok, when you install FFCore it creates its own xgfc location. By default that location is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Xerox\VIPP\xgfc\

If you want to use a different location then you have to update some of the vipp code to specify the alternate location. For initial testing I am going to suggest you use the default location first (make sure it works). So try placing your projects folder into C:\Program Files (x86)\Xerox\VIPP\xgfc\projects and then try your data file submission.

Re: VIPP2PDF

Hello, I have a straightforward install on my laptop of VI design Pro where the application was developed.

XGFC resides on drive D:\xgfc

FFC was installed using base settings

Do I need to have the XGFC directory on a specific location after Core installation?

FFCore: c:\program files\xerox\freeflow core

Users workflow data: d:\freeflow\core

Logon: Local System

Windows authentication

Databaseinstance: FREEFLOWCORE, localhost

Regards

Re: VIPP2PDF

Are the VIPP resources stored ON the FreeFlow Core server? or is it a remote server?  Can you please share the exact path to the resources (on or off the server).  Is this a fresh new install of 7.0.4 or was it upgraded from a previous version? (If upgraded, what was the first version installed?).

Normally when I run these kinds of jobs on Core I have the .ini file pre loaded on the Core server and only submit the data. So I will have to test your submission method, but expect that it 'should' work as long as it can get to the resources.  I asked about any upgrades because sometimes during upgrades the paths MAY have changed causing an issue.

Another important question: What is the EXTENTION for the file submitted (and how was it submitted). For example was the filename like:   printmyvipp.csv   or   printmyvipp.dbf   ??  what wa the .xxx for the data file submitted?  And was it submitted via a hotfolder or via the job submission GUI?

Re: VIPP2PDF

If I use a VPC file job passes correctly.

Submitting a data file with jobticket info attached goes wrong as mentioned

VIPP2PDF

Can I convert a VIPP job as joined.

It refuses to convert with message: Failed to generate PDF file from VI job

All my resources reside as indicated by the SETPROJECT command in VIPP file

Or do I have to indicate where resources reside? (drive, path)
