Re: Weekly calendar imposition

There are multiple ways to do this workflow and have it support an arbitrary number of pages. This example will work but will require a 3up layout (per the imposed example).

The workflow uses 2 imposition nodes and a split node.

The first imposition node will reorder the pages in the document.

Impose the document on an Automatic Press Sheet size without selecting any Size Options

The Rows and Columns should be set to do a 1up imposition using the trimbox

Finally, add a margin. The margin distance will not matter as the next imposition will use the trimbox. This will, however, preserve the document's bleed content (if any).

Lastly, use the following page order

This will use the first and last page of the document for impostiion. It will then increment the first page and decrement the pages and use those document pages for imposition.

Since the imposition is 1up using an automatic press sheet size, the output will be a document in which the odd pages increment from the first page and the even pages decrement from the last page.

Because the manual page order is repeated until all document pages are used, the output file will have 2 copies of every page. In order to do the required layout we need to get rid of half the pages in a way that's agnostic to the number of pages in the document.

We can do that with the split component.

Specify a set of rules to send all pages to two branches and then enable the option to Divide Pages by Number of Rules

The result of this will be two documents, each with half of the pages in the previous document. The document in the top branch can be imposed as required using cut & stack imposition. Ignore the document in the bottom branch.

The imposition should be 3 rows x 1 column. The most important settings are the Page Order and sheets per stack

and remembering to use the trimbox for imposition.

The workflow will support documents with an arbitrary number of pages while meeting all imposition requirements

Note: I have moved on to FFCore v5 so I cannot export the workflow. However, it should be fairly straight forward to recreate it based on the above information.

Weekly calendar imposition

Received this question from an analyst. Building tutorial with response .

Original job files are small werkly calendar of the following dimensions

The output should be sequential in order. However, the even pages should flow from the end of the document and the center pages may have blanks. Lastly, the workflow should support documents with an arbitrary number of pages whilemeeting the above requirements.

Imposed Pages 1 and 2 (of a 52 page document):
