Re: hot folder on hp rip no longer valid

There are a few different possibilities.

I am assuming from your post that this 'was working' and now stopped working right? So in order to allow FreeFlow Core to push files out to REMOTE systems (external) you have to do extra settings.  let me explain it this way:  While you might log into windows with a username of 'tom' and then you try to access a remote share on another computer - windows by default will use your login information ('tom') to access that remote share.  HOWEVER, FreeFlow Core as an application DOES NOT use the windows login information to access any remote shares. Instead it uses an 'under the hood' system account.  And most likely that 'under the hood' account cannot access the remote share.

The FreeFlow Core services can be configured to USE a specific user account instead of the 'under the hood' account. On newer versions of Core they give you this configuration choice during the software installation. It allows you to input the user account and the password. When you upgraded your software, it can RESET this user used information 'back to default' which uses the 'under the hood' account.

See if you go to Start > Programs > Xerox > FreeFlow Core Configure. Then select the DATABASE tab. Go to the bottom and UNCHECK the box where it says 'Check this box to use built-in windows account.'  Input the user account and password for your windows account that core uses. Of course this user must have access permissions on the HP system to access the share.

Hope this gets you going again.

hot folder on hp rip no longer valid

Hi

I upgraded to 5.4.4 and since then my hotfolders on our hip rip are failing.

So when i put a file through a workflow that had a save location on our hp rip the file goes into failed jobs with the message "The save location is invalid" Ive looked at the windows credentials and they all look good, obviously ive rebooted both computers, would anyone have any idea why this is failing after such an upgrade?

Thanks
