This error displays because a network cable is not connected. Connect the cable to RJ45 network port. Make sure the cable connecting the printer to the network is connected properly and securely.

It seems like two very roundabout ways to clear a warning that shouldn't appear at all in the first place. And should I assume that resetting the printer to factory defaults solves it? After the reset, it will stiill not be connected to any ethernet cable.
Re-installing the driver software might leave me with the same problem as well.
Either way - the printer software and/or driver have a bug. One of many. I hope these issues will be addressed in the future.

To clear the message you could reset the printer to factory settings, however, doing that would clear all security configurations and network settings and network connection to the printer will be lost immediately. So I would first recommend un-installing and re-installing the Xerox Print Driver.
I have the above warning in my "Active Alerts".
I know the network cable is not connected. I never plugged any network cable in. I don't need any warning about it, and I don't plan on connecting any network cable anytime soon.
How can I clear this useless warning from my printer's status?
