Re: 17-200 A network cable is not connected warning

Your answer is useless in two ways:
1 - It is identical, word-for-word, to the answer nicklarkin3663 posted 45 days before. Which makes it a bit weird.
2 - It does not relate to my problem at all. You can read my reply to nicklarkin3663 above, and imagine it was directed at you.

Re: 17-200 A network cable is not connected warning

This error displays because a network cable is not connected. Connect the cable to RJ45 network port. Make sure the cable connecting the printer to the network is connected properly and securely.

Thanks and Best Regards:

Re: 17-200 A network cable is not connected warning

I *understand* the error message.
I understand that if I will connect a network cable to my printer, the error message will be gone.
I *don't* understand why the fact that there is no network cable connected to my printer is considered to be an error of any kind. I have not connect a network cable to it *on purpose*. I do not *intend* to connect one. I do not *need* to connect one. I have Wi-Fi connectivity, and that is enough to get my printer *connected* to my network. No network cable is *needed*.

Having said that, looking at the "Easy Printer Manager" I do not see that error in there anymore. So something must have dismissed it. Without any printer resets.

Re: 17-200 A network cable is not connected warning

Thank you for your reply.

It seems like two very roundabout ways to clear a warning that shouldn't appear at all in the first place. And should I assume that resetting the printer to factory defaults solves it? After the reset, it will stiill not be connected to any ethernet cable.

Re-installing the driver software might leave me with the same problem as well.

Either way - the printer software and/or driver have a bug. One of many. I hope these issues will be addressed in the future.

Thanks again for your time.

Re: 17-200 A network cable is not connected warning

Hello ATGardner,

To clear the message you could reset the printer to factory settings, however, doing that would clear all security configurations and network settings and network connection to the printer will be lost immediately. So I would first recommend un-installing and re-installing the Xerox Print Driver.

Thanks,

17-200 A network cable is not connected warning

Product Name: Xerox B215 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

I have the above warning in my "Active Alerts".

I know the network cable is not connected. I never plugged any network cable in. I don't need any warning about it, and I don't plan on connecting any network cable anytime soon.

How can I clear this useless warning from my printer's status?
