Re: 510 Wide Format Fan

Hi, There is nothing wrong with your machine. The 510 has hase a fuser which incorporates o heating rods. When you are using the printer you will hear the 2  fans engaging,  this is to extract the heat from the top of your fuser.

Your 510 has timers in it for power save and sleep. When in power save it will pulse heat the heat rods to keep the fuser warm. And you will hear a fan spinning to extract that heat build up from the fuser. Now please note this power save is purely for quick warm up so when you send a plot its not starting from cold state but from a warm state. Warm up time is quicker.

Sleep mode after x amount of minutes the 510 will recognise that you are not using the machine and it will shut down the power to the fuser, therefore no heat produced then no need for the fans to be on.

This is beautifull well engineered machine last of the America built Xerox plotters.

It will serve your company well.

Re: 510 Wide Format Fan

Hi dhersey,

Thank you for using the Support Forum.  I don't have one of these machines available to check the fan.  I suggest you take a look at the specifications for the energy info.  You might need to contact support for further information on the fan.

Thanks,

510 Wide Format Fan

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello, we are currently leasing a 510 Wide Format Printer / Scanner system. We have been using the system for about 5 weeks and overall we are impressed and could possibly buy the system. We do have one issue with the machine, the fan at the bottom left side never stops. I believe it is a cooling fan for (not sure) the power unit. This fan never stops running even when the printer has been unused for the weekend. Is this normal for this printer or should the fan shut down after the power supply cools down. The problem is that the fan running all the time has raised "power consumption" questions. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
