Hi,

The belt edge sensor is located inside the IBT assy, on the back side at the bottom of the assembly and it is a little optical sensor. But the problem become from the reflective patch who can be peeled, worn, wrinkled, or damaged and you can clean or replace it if you have some similar.

Thanks much. We have cleaned the assembly some toner spillage etc.
But still having the same error.
In fact we basically cleaned the entire machine. Still the same error.
I've ordered a new belt cause not sure if it's the belt it either lands on Monday or Tuesday.
I think we saw the sensor on the unit and cleaned it but no luck.
Hoping it's just the belt and not full unit

Have you reset the NVM value? Because if the fault appears 3 times in succession the print mode will be disabled.

Yep I did reset the NVM value but nothing has change the error still comes up.
And don't want to do it 3 times in a row cause as you say the print mode will become disabled

In this case seems to be the IBT is so used. Don't worry, the print mode will become disabled if 3 times error appear, but resetting the NVM it will be enabled again.

Ok cool I will see how it goes so when we put on the new belt we still go in and reset the NVM again?
And do you think could be the sensors gone bad?

No, the sensor never was broken.

Ok cool thanks. Yeah part slated to land this morning. Should have the technician in early to install it. Thanks so much for you help. And how often do you think it need changing?
We got the machine with about 60k on it today it's just 200k

Changing operation it should not last longer than 30 min. And the IBT life depends on what paper media you use.

Well we changed the belt still same thing. I will try resetting the NVM.
Also should of mentioned it was a toner spill that occurred when we got this error.
We wondering if there is toner on another sensor. Cause we are not sure why we are still having the error
