The topic is a desktop printer and you are asking about a Wide format, nothing in this thread would apply in any way to your setup.
There are no drivers for any 64 bit OS, there are no OSX drivers for anything intel based. The printer has not had software or driver development for literally a decade. There is no possibility you will get it running fully on any platform made in the last 6 years.
AutoCAD/AutoDESK tends to contain HDI drivers that could be used. If you happen to run Windows 10 32 bit (unlikely) you could disable driver signing and possibly get an XP driver up and running.
In any case, you can only work with the drivers at Xerox.com by choosing the correct controller and finding a driver for a Windows version matching your current architecture (x86, x64)
i have an 8850 wide format printer and tried to use the Xerox PS Color CLass Driver you mentioned, but it does nott have the large arch d 24x36 paper size. is there a different drive?
Hi Stingray77080,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the compatibility chart for Windows 10. It indicates that for your Phaser 8550 you can use the global printer driver and / or the Xerox PS Color CLass Driver. You can find the driver on the driver and download tab for your machine and choose Windows 10. If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
I "inherited" an 8550 Phaser with a house I bought, and it has the original driver CD with it. However, the driver doesn't seem to want to play with my computer which has been recently upgraded to Windows 10. And when I look at the Xerox support site, y'all don't show a driver for it. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
