Add Fonts to Phaser 7800GX

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi.  I need to add some additional font to our Xerox Phaser 7800GX.  I downloaed the Xerox Font Management tool, but it cannot find my printer. (I tried by both IP, and Gateway/Subnet).  I then noticed that the 7800GX was not listed in supported printer.  How can I add font to this printer?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

Are you sure you got the right tool? This one should work according to Xerox.com. It sounds like you just got a Workcenter one versus a Phaser one

Re: Add Fonts to Phaser 7800GX

Joe,

This is the file that I downloaded.  I uninstalled the version I had, and downloaded again using the link provided.  I got the same results. It finds the other 2 printers that are on the network, but will not find the Phaser that I need to update.  Any other suggestions/ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

Re: Add Fonts to Phaser 7800GX

I added mine manually just fine in the same exact version you have so I don't know what the problem is, unless you are only troubleshooting an SNMP scenario where it won't find it all by itself without intervention.

Re: Add Fonts to Phaser 7800GX

You can transfer fonts from your device to the system's memory or hard drive in order to replace the local font (which is still available for printing). You can display, print, and update your PostScript, PCL, and TrueType fonts (Calligraphy Text) on your device using a CentreWare Font Management Tool.

Downloading font to asystem will boost printing efficiency and minimise Network Traffic. This feature allows you to manage fonts and macros on the hard drive of a device.

To download and install the Font Management Utility on Windows operating systems:
2. Select your printer from the Select Product drop-down list.
3. Click Additional Utilities in the Printer Utilities table.
4. Select your operating system.
5. Locate the CentreWare Font Management Utility option, and do one of the following:
Windows: Save the .exe file to your computer.
Macintosh: Select Start to download the .hqx file.
6. Install the font manager.
