I had this problem and I applied the above instructions, and it was successful.
This is great but, what do you do is there is nothing but the following on my Workcentre 6515
Thank you i had the same problem.
Before asking the question it appear to me.
Thank you again.
Latest software revision v5.3.6 the WC 6515 still isn't listed (And this is 8 months after release - Shame on you Xerox for half baked support)
WS 6515 is not an open in the current software . Nor is WS6510. Please advise. Andy
Hi,
Use the Firmware Download Utility Tool from that page using an USB A/B cable and choose WC6515.
Gabi
The 6515 isn't automatic, all that shows is that you have as admin set the printer to allow upgrades, you still have to go get them and install them.
The option to check for firmware is available in VersaLink, which the 6515 isn't (Its Surge), it doesn't have the memory to do things like the autoupdates and EIP apps etc. This is the reason why you need a tool/app to install firmware on it, as well as its little brother the Phaser 6510.
Which is why VersaLink products have lots more on that same page
Dear all,
the automatic firmware update of my WorkCentre 6515 does not seem to work properly. The system keeps telling me that the automatic updates are enabled, but the installed firmware (65.21.71) is not the actual one, that is downloadable via the drivers page (65.31.81). See below. There is no button that willl force a scan for new firmware, and I don't see if it does a regular check and if there is any data recieved from the Xerox servers.
Any advice?
Best regards.
