I tried replying to this but I got some authentication error and it blew out all my work.
Oh well.
The PPD works
Hello mikodel,
I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.
Can I get a simple .PPD (postscript printer description) file for this printer PLEASE??
I have no interest in installing the suite of applications Xerox bundles into their driver download. All the doc creator, easy scan... no, no thanks. All I want is the .ppd file.
I didn't realize before, but I had set this machine up using Bonjour and Airprint. I assigned the B205 a static IP, and I thought I had it set up via LPR. (always my 1st choice.) But using the current connection protocols the printer has gone OFF-LINE TWICE.
The 1st time, a few weeks ago, it was giving me "Airprint credentials expired" message. I fixed it quickly by blwing out the driver, and adding it again, this time using the non-secure version of Airprint. But that only lasted a few weeks.
Now again, tonite it stopped printing again, even after I rebooted the B205, and the Macbook, and added the Airprint driver again. It keeps saying "Printer paused". I even tried Airprint over IP. That also did not work.
So I searched "Xerox B205 PPD" on the web and I found a 'generic' PPD on Xerox support site, but it's for a C10-C315 device. I installed it... and it DOES work. I am able to print #10 envelopes using AUTO for paper handling.
BUT... I'd much prefer the specific .PPD file for my actual model. I print multiple n-up layouts all the time - I don't know if that's gonna work. Thanks in advance!
If there is no .ppd file available, and I have to go back to "Airprint secure" then can you at least tell me how to fix the AIRPRINT CREDENTIALS EXPIRED error? I searched that the first time it went offline and found a lot of blah blah blah, but no clear answer
