Re: Can an AltaLink C80XX Clone be used on any speed of C80XX?

update ##

i was deeply reading around this topic and i found this

Recommendations:

  • Although clone file is built to be used mixed products/ mixed versions in same family,

we strongly recommend to follow this points on master and cloned machines:

  • Same Device Software Level.
  • Same features & configuration Level, like finisher, DADF, duplex kit, etc..

The best way is to create a clone file per SW Level/Device Configuration

About ConnectKey, Altalink, Versalink Machines:

Although ConnectKey machines use the “same” baseline, and in despite of some documentations which can bring confusion on that, above recommendations and warnings are still true.

the rule is " All printers must be the same model and have the same version of software for the clone file to be accepted "

But In  different cases in the past  this rule was broken even for different models not only differen firmware versions !!

to be honest i didnt try that on Altalink specially to avoid another issues could happendownload.jpg

Product Name: AltaLink C8030 / C8035 / C8045 / C8055 / C8070 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Not Applicable

User has a C8030 but will be also receiving C8055s.   Can the clone file from the C8030 be used on the C8055?
