Re: Can not connect to Web interface through Internet Explorer

Jump to solution

I have just now purchased xerox 3220. It came with 2.50.00.100 firmware. When I tried to set the SMTP there was no option for SSL. And without SSL I cant setup my gmail address. After going through the support forum I come to know that the device needs firmware upgradation. So I upgraded it to new firmware on your support site i.e 2.50.00.105. Before installation of firmware I can easily access my CWIS. But after successful installation of new firmware I can ping my machine successfully but cannot access it using CWIS. The CWIS option is enabled on the machine. I dont know how can I access it and check if http is enabled or not.

I have also contacted local service center. But they told me we are not giving serives to small machines. We are here only for big machines. I will think if I have to buy a big machine in order to take exclusive services.

Please help me in this regard

Thanks

The At Your Service blog has posted an article about troubleshooting issues with CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS)  called  Xerox CentreWare Internet Services: What if it Won’t Display?  I hope that you might find the answer to your issue in the blog article.

Re: Can not connect to Web interface through Internet Explorer

Hi I have a Workcentre 5687 at my work and we have the EXACT same problem, except I haven't been able to find a solution.

The machine is on the network and fully pingable.  On the configuration page, HTTP is enabled, SSL disabled (no https), but when I try to access the CWIS web interface, the web page does not load in either Internet Explorer or Firefox.  I've tried resetting the system, disabling and re-enabling the HTTP service, but to of no avail. I tried telnetting the machine on port 80 but the connection refused. HTTP service is enabled on the control panel on the machine. There is no proxy or firewalls on the network, and it's on the same subnet that my PC is on. I don't know what else I am supposed to look at to fix the problem.

Please help.

Fabio,

That worked!  Thanks.  I didn't even think to look under "Centerware IS".  That was turned off.  Who knew that meant "HTTP"???  :)

Thanks again for the help.

Fabio, are you sure you can do that with the WorkCentre 3220?  I will also check this tomorrow and let everyone know what I find out.

Thanks.

with the workcentre devices its possible to disable the http protocol , you can enable this if you login as admin on the device itself and then goto network settings , protocol settings...

If you are sure that there are no web proxies or other security walls on the way that could cause this, you also try to connect with Crossover cable and test is on direct environment.

Make sure somehow your using https instead of http... but if you enter just the ip in the browser it should call it correctly..

You can check the "network" settings for http serice. But I am not sure you will have this on this machien.

Assuming the problem is with the printer services then you can only clean the settings please make sure you keep a config page and back up any settings you find relevant.

System Setup >Clear Setting >System Setup

                                            >Network Setup

Apart from this there is a tech mode but I am afraid you will have to call a Xerox Representative for this one.
