Re: Cannot login to the configuration manager

Jump to solution

I cannot log in used the 1111,  serial number, or 6789 (which was on another thread on the forum).  I changed the maintenance kit on my xerox versalink c500 and need to clear that message.

How do I do this

Thank you very much, it worked! At least there are valuable people on this forum. They should've stated that on their website or at least in user docs. There is a possibility that the supplier might have exchanged the user docs somehow because there were 10 more printers of same type and they all had 1111 as default password.

What I said in the post above, I mean it. Xerox, you should improve your documentation, clean up all old posts with invalid information and add some support in the whole picture, because right now it's zero.

Hi,

To comply with 2020 California Password law (SB-327), the initial admin passwor is the machine serial number.  After that you can change it.

Cannot login to the configuration manager

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 7

My university bought Xerox WorkCentre 3335 printer and during the installation I was asked to change the password. Pretty sure I used admin:admin and when I tried to login with that or the default credentials admin:1111 in the configuration menu or whatever it is called (the access key button), it didn't work. Is there a way this password can be reset? I don't find information on how to do that or contact you. It would probably need a factory reset. I tried #1934 (the diagnostic mode) and there is nothing important that could possibly help me.

Also, why the heck would you need that retarded password mechanism IN A PRINTER? If it comes to me, I would never buy a such printer for personal usage. Thanks for wasting my day. A bit off topic, but your website/support service/whatever you call it, is zero: no livechat, no email address provided, no contact form or at least I didn't find one.
