Re: CentreWare SNMP v3 error adding printers

Hello. Would you be able to elaborate on how you set up the SNMP v3 on the CWW and the printer? Thank you.

Figured this out in case anyone else comes across this issue.

I had to upgrade the firmware for my 7855 to at least 073.040.068.33100.

For anything related to CWW itself you would be best off submitting a ticket with their support team directly. They should be able to respond quickly to a simple yes/no question on whether SNMPv1 and 2 being required.

Customers may contact CWW Support directly by phone 877-477-1349 or by email at CWWWORLDWIDESWSUPPORT@xerox.com

CentreWare SNMP v3 error adding printers

Jump to solution
Product Name: CentreWare Web
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Hi All,

I'm trying to get CentreWare v6.0.7 working

Tested on Windows 10 x64, IE 11, .NET 4.7.2

Windows 7 x64, IE11, .NET 4.5.2 and .NET 4.7.2

Tested on a xerox 7855, HP Printer, and Ricoh MFD

I can add printers fine using SNMPv1/2, but our policy requires that v1/2 is disabled so I disabled v1/2 and configured v3 on all 3 devices, but get the error in CentreWare when adding the printer: "An SNMPv3-related error has occured. Please verify that the SNMPv3 settings configured on the network printer match the edit Properties, "SNMP Access" settings used by Xerox CentreWare Web"

To test the SNMPv3 settings on the devices I tested with HP JetAdmin, Rocoh NX, and Paessler snmp tester. All 3 of these programs will communicate with all 3 devices with SNMPv1 disabled and v3 enabled.

I must be missing something in the CentreWare config or a service or something not enabled.  Or is it as simple as SNMPv1/2 is required?

Thanks!
