Hello,
that's could be nice solution. But my issue was that available MS SQL server is version 2005 which is not compatible with XCW 5.9.22. Therefore I had to install completely new installation of 5.9.22 with local MS SQL 2008 Express Edition. And recreate manually all folders and reports. One day of works.
Maybe I could move databse from the old installation (from MS SQL 2005) to this MS SQL 2008 Express and start to install locally, but nevermind. I do not need that history too much.
Thank you for your help.
Hi Jakub
I just went thru this myself. I was not able to migrate data from one XCW version to another due to the database schema being completely different, the only way around this is to do an in-place XCW version upgrade (uninstall your 5.0.45 from your w2k3 server, install 5.9.22), this process will do a database upgrade, and then you can backup your DB thru the XCW console and restore the data on your new w2k8 server with XCW 5.9.22.
Hi jakub hauzner,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the Installation Guide page 1-11 the Database Migration steps. Also take a look at the CentreWare Web support site. If you are unable to find the answer then please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
I have to migrate my old XCWW (5.0.45) from Windows 2003-32bit server (database is on MS SQL 2005 server) to the new Windows 2008-64bit server. Only downloadable XCWW version is 5.9.22. ANd it request MS SQL 2008. Therefore I have installed the embedded MS SQL 2008Express.
Does anybody know hot to import database from the previos version to the latest one?
Thank you for your help.
