Hello Loulow.

You can’t use an Ethernet cable for this type of connection, but need a Crossover cable. They’re a modification of a standard Ethernet cable that actually switch two of the braided pairs of copper wires around. Otherwise, besides obtaining a crossover, you would need to attach a router or switch between the printer and computer to access CWIS.


Another problem could be that you haven't configuring the computer and printer for the same subnet/gateway settings. Whatever those are set to need to match up.

I have a Phaser 7400 attached directly to a computer via ethernet cable but it doesn't seem to find it. I've tried adding manually using the IP found on the printer control panel but still cant connect it. Please help.


My goal is to access Centreware options.
