Re: EIP Deprecation - Impact (Printix)

Jump to solution

Got a reply from the Printix support:

"Printix requires EIP 3.7 or higher which is the third generation EIP browser, so there should be no issue having Printix installed on the new firmware that deprecates the 2nd generation browser. Inhouse I have managed to install the app on the printer."

Hello AdamA,

I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Software Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797.

EIP Deprecation - Impact (Printix)

Jump to solution
Product Name: AltaLink C8130 / C8135 / C8145 / C8155 / C8170 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 11

Hi,

We have AltaLink C8155 printers and were planning to update to latest software version 119.*.*.* however looking at the Release notes we can read "This Service Pack includes the deprecation of the Xerox Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) second-generation browser".

As we are running Printix we are concerend it will stop working as the Printix documentation states "As a general rule, Printix Go supports Xerox printers and MFPs that support Xerox EIP (Extensible Interface Platform) version 3.7 or later".

Wonder if anyone is using Printix and knows if Printix will stop working if upgrading to 119.*?

We have filed a support ticket to Printix on this as well.

More information on EIP deprecation from Xerox.
