Equitrac client for Mavericks and Yosemite is out now. They claim it was released last november but I dont think half their staff actually knew this because I had called and asked and was told 'no' until a month ago. Anyhow, you need your server updated to 5.7 but it does work now. We are stuck in a lease so will continue to use it, hopefully a new OS doesn't come out for awhile....
And now we are on Yosemite 10.10. Anything yet? Over a year later and still not updated?
We have started the process of replacing Equitrac Professional with Sepialine Argos. Until finding Argos I did not think there were any products out there that could compete with Equitrac Professionals feature list. Argos does, and they are committed to a rapid upgrade cycle to stay compatible with Apple updates.Unfortunately Argos is just as expensive as Equitrac Pro. Xerox as a company is becoming more aware of Argos as an option, they may be able to offer it as part of a new Xerox contract. I don't work for Xerox but you may want to discuss this with your Xerox rep. http://www.sepialine.com/
With the recent rumor that Samsung may purchase Nuance, and Nuance's preexisting lack of support for the Mac, I can see nothing good coming in regards to Equitrac Pro and Macs. If Samsung, arguably the largest competitor to Apple, does buy Nuance, what do you think will happen to Mac support in Equitrac Pro? I guess we could hope Equitrac gets spun off.
I was excited when i saw this link above but it is not for Equitrac Professsional. I have been calling them once a month since November and still no word on an Equitrac Pro Mavericks client. Very frustrating to be paying montlhly for a product we can't use with our new computers and there is NO way to downgrade a new mac back to 10.8.
Mavericks is supported by Equitrac, below is the article in their knowledge base.

I suspect the community of Mac users who also use Equitrac is small. However, everyone of us needs to contact Equitrac and demand that they renew their support efforts for the Mac, most of us are paying steep maintenance fees. Even with all those maintenance fees, it appears Nuance/Equitac made a finacial decision to NOT hire Mac developers and update their Equitrac Mac client to support Mavricks. The Equitrac Pro update they released in March of 2014 does resolve an issue with Mountian Lion, but it does not correct the network connectivity issues with Mavricks.
I contacted Equitrac too and they wrote me:
"We do not currently support Mavericks. We are looking at having that supported in Feb of 2014."
Hi There,
We got the same issue with the same error message.
