Re: Failed firmware upgrade, printer unusable

Sounds like you have tried everything already, so it would be a hardware escalation: 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.

Failed firmware upgrade, printer unusable

Product Name: VersaLink C400 Color Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Hello,

We are another victim of the failed firmware upgrade issue.  The bridge upgarde 67.59.1 installed correctly but 67.66.11 failed and now printer does not work.  It stall on 'checking file system'  and then after a period of time a blank blue screen which eventually gives error message "Booter failed".  Also the printer cannot be accessed throught device ip so I cannot reset it.

Xerox support were helpful but have said it requires an engineer to attend but they cannot advise when that will be.  In the meantime the printer is not working.  Not very good that we cannot just reset to factory setting and start again without a engineer visiting.  Kind of puts me of a Xerox printer...an engineer to visit to factory reset...really?!

I have read somewhere that it can be booted from the USB port on the printer but cannot find how to do this.

If anyone can shed a light on this it is appreciated.

Thanks.

Paul
