Hi,
Try another USB thumb drive. What level of firmware are you trying to install?

Hello,
I tried the special boot but it crashes at 12% progress, the exact same thing as network attempts ...
Thank you
Hi,
I'm just in the same situation
Update to the latest software of my C405 failed. Now the device goes to the wave splash screen and hangs. The USB option did not work (can't find the USB device). I see it can be upgraded with the folder dwld.
Can someone help me please giving me the way to do that?

Thanks very much (sorry for my english, i m from Belgium)
Hi - I ran into the same situation while upgrading firmware, i.e., it failed and now I have a very large paperweight that won't boot. Could you send me the instructions?
Hopefully you are still around. Could you please email me the instructions on how to add the firware to a c405 that has had a failed ui firware update. The utility doesnt pick up the printer and I think I am going to have to use the thumb drive approach. Thank you for your time.
Email is ahannah@abrasive-tech.com.
Thank You!
Hello, I too had the same issue occur today. I tried to flash the firmware via the web interface. I chose to let it update itself and the machine started upgrading but got stuck on 12%. After some time it rebooted to a Xerox logo and got stuck there. About an hour later it started showing a wave-animation with the Xerox logo now in the lower corner (after first saying "Checking file system").
I am not sure if it will resolve itself but I will leave it for the night and see tomorrow. If it hasnt resolved itself, can you please send me details on how to manually re-flash it with a usb stick? I can try the windows-usb cable solution too but I guess the usb stick solution is the best and most solid solution to this issue.
Thanks!
If I have your email address;)
Can you email me the procedures?
Yes, it can be upgraded and the folder name is dwld. But there is a diferent procedure than AltBoot.
Just tried to update my C405 to the latest software and got the Write Error. Now the device goes to the wave splash screen and hangs. The USB option did not work. Can the device be booted off the USB drive? Similar to ALTBOOT on the other devices?
