Re: How to Disable LDAP?

Joe053204-hcl:

Isn't that all typically handled by Search directory root or a custom filter?

It should be but the documentation does not help. However, I have now found a partial solution.

We have our Active Directory setup so all user accounts are within departmental Organization Units (OU) but they're under an OU called Domain Users. This is NOT a default Active Directory container (CN) so the example Search Directory Query does not work. Instead of being able to search multiple OU I can point at the top level Domain Users like this:

  • OU=Domain Users, DC=domain, DC=suffix

Note that the OU name contains a space and that this is accepted exactly as shown (you do not need to escape the space in any way).

The correct way to filter by email is:

Connectivity -- LDAP -- Custom Filters -- Enable Email Address Book Filter

In the text box enter the following and then hit OK (replace with your domain):

  • mail=*domain.suffix

  • Only show users from certain Organizational units (There are 10 to search)
  • Only show users with an email address that ends in a certain domain

That is a terrible response! I want to disable it because your system seems incapable of doing what I need it to do. This is a very valid reason for wanting to turn off a feature.

I want the LDAP user search to:

  • Only show users from certain Organizational units (There are 10 to search)
  • Only show users with an email address that ends in a certain domain

Can you tell me how to achieve this? Your documentation does not and there are several other posts of people trying to do this same task but find it impossible.

You can't without a factory reset. But since it is a feature you invoke manually, there is also no reason to disable it.

How to Disable LDAP?

Product Name: WorkCentre 6515
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

I need to disable LDAP under Connectivity but there is no toggle to turn it off. How can I disable this function without factory reseting the printer?
