Thanks for the reply.
Do you have a phone number I can call in Italy?
Hello Thomasio,
Sounds like you have tried a lot of things already, I would suggest calling into the support department at 1-800-821-2797 to speak with a software specialist.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Unpacked the printer, removed all the safety tapes, connected power, connected via wifi to my router, all without problems.
I don't have a CD drive to insert the CD that came with the printer, so I downloaded SmartStart 1.9.12.0 from the support website and installed it, it didn't find my printer at first, had to type in the IP it got from my router, then it was found and the installation went through.
After that I expected to find some stuff in the start menu of Win11, specifically a software for the scanner, but the only thing I find there is called "Xerox Notifications" and clicking that doesn't do a thing, it closes the start menu and nothing happens.
Downloaded and updated the latest firmware, worked without problems.
Downloaded Desktop Print Experience 7.0 from the support website, tried to install it, but all it gives me for options is "repair" and "remove" as if the software were installed already.
Clicking repair takes a few seconds then comes with the extremely helpful message "Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error." No indication what kind of error, no hint what to do, no nothing.
Tried printing a page from Notepad++, just 3 lines of random black text on white background, where the first strange thing I noticed was that it said "preview not available", but at least it finds the printer, says "installing printer" for a while, then prints the page.
Tried installing the scanner software from the Microsoft store, that one detects the scanner and seems to work.
But still nothing in start menu under Xerox other than the notifications that don't do a thing and the Desktop Print Experience 7.0 still gives error.
Tried rebooting my computer a few times, doesn't help.
Now what am I doing wrong?
