Hello Sandra,
There is a known Gmail issue. Please check out this post for a link to Google's solution.
Hopefully this is the right place for this I have seen a similar post on here so hoping so, I am currently dealing with an issue on a XEROX WorkCentre 7220, the scan to email on this was setup to use a gmail account and the gmail SMTP service, it was working fine until it magically wasn't, I've tried so many things to resolve this like different gmail accounts, different encryption settings and so far nothing.
Here is where I am at currently, I have reset the SMTP settings back to default in an attempt to completely reconfigure the printer, under the required information tab here is my configuration...
Host name: smtp.gmail.com Port : 587 Device email : A brand new gmail address Login name : The brand new gmail address Password : The password to that gmail account Encryption: SMARTTLS Validate Server Certificate: Not Selected
When I try send a test email I get an error message saying...
Unable to send test E-mail. Tell Culvers
Login failure. Check user password, and/or setups.
(Yes the password and login is definitely correct)
Any assistance would be amazing, thanks.
