My workaround of attaching it to a Linux server is still the best option I can find. I already had Linux macines here so it was fairly easy. If anyone else has the same problem then a Raspberry Pi or something similar should be easy to set up as a print-server.

Pleased to see your issue as I think I have the same problem,I am also confused and in need of light on this same issue. Need help.
I didn't find a solution but found that I could do all that I needed by attaching the printer to a Linux system and using the PostScript driver. I could probably have used password-cracking software but now I don't need it.

Here are the instruction to preform a factory reset.
If the password has been set, then forgotten, follow these steps to reset it to the factory default (factory default is NO password required for access to CWIS). On the Control Panel of the printer:
Print a confguration page prior to performing these steps see the Related Item below.
