Re: Number 1: CAN WE PLEASE GET A READABLE FORUM LAYOUT?

Hi PamY-Xerox,

Yes, I was aware of the settings at the time I submitted my comments. In fact, I needed those settings to read what I was writing.

The problem extends beyond this immediate environment, however. The entire Xerox website is built with small, dim fonts including the Settings and Help links at the top of the page. Computer work is hard enough on the eyes without these "artsy" designs that making reading even more difficult.

I don't know what's motivating the current generation of designers, but it violates all the principles I learned in 40 years of publishing about making magazines and newspapers user-friendly. Even the newspaper legal notices, which nobody readers except lawyers (and who cares about them) required a minimum 6-point type. Body text on news articles was 11 or 12 point, with subheads and titles considerably larger.

Today, I can't shop for groceries or read product instructions without a magnifying glass, and even those aren't always sufficient for the job. Product labels have a limited space for so much text that often is mandated by one or more federal agencies, but a website has almost no space limitations. And the color wheel is fully available for all content. So why, WHY must your website use so much small, light-colored text? Do you not want customers to actually spend time here? Already, my eyes are starting to water from the strain.

Thank you. Bye.

Re: Number 1: CAN WE PLEASE GET A READABLE FORUM LAYOUT?

Hi davideh,

Thank you for your feedback.    You can increase the size of the font through the following process for the forum.

1. Select "My Settings" at the top of the Forum

2. Select "Preferences"

3. Select "Display"

4. Select the size of Font.  By default it is on "Medium".

5.  Save Changes

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Number 1: CAN WE PLEASE GET A READABLE FORUM LAYOUT?

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I supposedly have 20-20 vision with eyeglasses, but reading this Xerox forum is a major eyestrain. Why do the fonts have to be so tiny, light gray or light blue, and blurry? I'm referring, actually, to the entire Xerox website.

Must the federal government get involved and update the American Disabilities Act to REQUIRE all companies to print everything in at least 9 point black type on white or light-colored backgrounds so that ordinary people can read the text without a magnifying glass?
