Phaser 7500 vs 7800 for graphic design

Been using 7800 for 5 years and thinking about a new printer...Only 14k prints a year.

Could the 7500 replace the 7800 if additional ram was added?

Anyone using the 7500 for InDesign and Photoshop file output?

Re: Phaser 7500 vs 7800 for graphic design

The 7500 could replace a 7800, but they are not equal at all.

The 7500 has the older fuser, so it runs hotter, meaning some stocks may or may not work due to heat tolerances.

The 7800 is Pantone certified and the 7500 is Pantone approved, meaning while the 7800 gets PhaserCal and PhaserMatch, the 7500 does not.

The 7500 does not support PCL6, although if you are doing color print, you would be using PS anyway.

The 7500 also only directly supports PDF 1.4 vs the PDF 1.6 on the 7800.
