Re: Power Management Xerox WorkCentre 3345, how to disable Power Saver Modes

Wc3345 has option to turn it of from control panel. If you turn it off from control panel it's not active through network and you have to press button on control panel or turn off and than turn on power switch.
In any of power saving mode (1 or 2) wc3345 is available through network.

Re: Power Management Xerox WorkCentre 3345, how to disable Power Saver Modes

Remote System management is the webpage (CWIS) and it should be enabled by default, so unless you or someone else there disabled it, there is nothing to be done.

Proxy certainly isn't needed unless you want the machine to access the internet for scan or meter readings.

User interface configuration is very self explanatory

Hi, should I enable Remote System Management?
I see two options:

Re: Power Management Xerox WorkCentre 3345, how to disable Power Saver Modes

In the old devices (15+ years ago) it was printable because it typically was needed to send a fax.

Now everything is digital so you don't waste paper and phone time. The printer can report your supply and meter data direct via Smart eSolutions to Xerox with no intervention.

Meters can be read at the printer and in CWIS, I suppose you could copy@paste into Word or Notepad and print it, but I cannot even remember the last model I used that had a "Please let me print this report to explain how much I have printed and simultaneously add yet another click charge by printing it" option.

Thank you.

Do you know how to print  usage counter in new  Xerox WorkCentres from local device ?
In old Xerox devices, usage counter is easy to print but in new models you can only see the reuslt on screen of device but where is print option?

Re: Power Management Xerox WorkCentre 3345, how to disable Power Saver Modes

Our Xerox WorkCentre 3345 is connected to our network with ftp cable.

Our device is with static IP Address, we don't use DHCP.

And now I should to check our firmware version and if it is lower version we need to upgrade to new version?

You don't have to, but mine is on the higher version and does not have the issue yours does.

I have some questions, can you explain me more about upgrade and firmware update process?

Download and extract the firmware I linked, upload it to the machine via its web interface

If I decide to update firmware, all my old settings and configurations will stay there or I will lost them?

No settings should be lost

Do I understand you correctly? Power Saver Modes, they are not problem, and we can manage our Xerox Work Centers 24/7 remotely? Correct, Power saver should not effect the LAN settings at all, mine is in a big test lab and probably isn't in power save mode for less than 5 minutes per week, but is always available to print or use the CWIS page

And  we need to be with wired connection to network, with latest firmware and with static Ip address of device?

You do not, but it would be preferred, especially wired vs wireless, since many routers disconnect a wireless device that isn't active until they make a request, which would explain your scenario where it doesn't work until you change the printer state

We don't have privilege and permissions to upgrade the firmware and this option for us is not available.
Do you have any others ideas? If you don't have admin privilege to your own printer, then someone who does will have to make the change, if they won't make the change, they are just choosing to have a broken machine and can't be helped.

And please show me how you are able to wake it over LAN?

I don't need to wake it ever, but if I wanted to I would simply send a print, open the CWIS (Web page) and make a change that requires admin rights, which would cause it to wake in order to apply the setting I changed. Remember, in my case it never isn't available to be used

How you generate traffic to Xerox WorkCentre 3345 to wake up it? As above, I don't need to at all

Re: Power Management Xerox WorkCentre 3345, how to disable Power Saver Modes

Due to the rules that go along with Energy Saver certifications, Power saving cannot be disabled.

It doesn't drop the network when it sleeps though, so I assume you're using WiFi and it is getting dropped due to no activity on the LAN. That should/could be negated via STATIC vs DHCP, or switching to Wired.

The latest firmware is here, which is what mine is running, which is just fine on the LAN and both are set to 1 at all times.

Power Management Xerox WorkCentre 3345, how to disable Power Saver Modes

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello,  Xerox WorkCentre 3345 is entry in sleep mode and we don't have remote access to web page of CWIS, to take remote access to web page I must go near to device and push button to wake up it?

I think this is related with CWIS/Properties/Power Managment
Power Saver Mode 1 Timer: 1 to 119
Power Saver Mode 2 Timer: 1 to 119

But I can change these parameters to max:
Power Saver Mode 1 Timer: 60 mins
Power Saver Mode 2 Timer: 60 mins

I want to access Xerox WorkCentre 3345 24/7 is it possible to disable Power Saver Modes and how?

Thanks and regards!
