I have a phaser 8560 MFP and I also have the same problem with the fan, it switches off for less than a second and starts right back up even in temperatures of around 60 degrees. I am not sure how to fix that. What i am worried is that the fan is going to burn out and then the printer will overheat or throw and error code, I had windows 7 64 bit running at one time but for the last 6 months i have windows 8 32 bit , i do not notice any change with the change of pc's plus it is on a network anyways.
I am experiencing this too, seems like after the latest firmware upgrade. I am running Windows 7 32-bit. The fan doesn't running constantly all day but starts running almost every hour or so for 15-20 minutes. Seems like this is affecting my electric bill too. And it is soooo annoying! Please let me know if this issue has been resolved. I had a scanner issue that was fixed recently (new parts) so I know my firmware, etc is up-to-date. There is no error message displayed when the fan is running.
Hello mlpts,
I have asked about this occurrence with your Phaser 8560 but there are no other reports of this issue as of yet. You and SusieKiley, the other forum member, seem to be the only two so far. I am not sure what other things could be causing this issue for you both. You said that this problem began just after you upgraded your PC to Win7 64bit? Did you change anything else that you can remember? Did you install a new driver along with the new OS? If so, which driver and where from? I can pass this information along to our engineers and hopefully, they'll be able to find something to look after.

I didn't make the connection until I read this post. I too have noticed this occurs for me as well. Only since one of my computers was upgraded to Win7 64bit version. The printer fan gets really loud when that computer is on and prints for the first time. It doesn't quiet down until I shut down that pc. I had downloaded the global driver from the xerox website.
Previously, it was running XP with the driver provided on the CD that arrived with the printer.

Hello SusieKiley,
What printer model do you have that the fan is running constantly? Since it has been 3 weeks since you posted this question, is the fan still running constantly today?
I just upgraded to Windows 7 64bit OS, as well as downloaded the Xerox Global Print Driver PS for 64bit. Now the fan in the printer rund constantly, and all night long. How can I change the settings to have the printer timeout completely without powering down during idle times? This printer is only used for specialty jobs, and waiting for the printer to warm up is ok, I would rather not use so much energy at home. Thanks for your help! - Susie
