With Print around on it does the same thing for both Prompt to Load Paper and the Substituion.
I tested printing A4 paper and Letter paper. I put one sheet in the printer, to allow the first job to print, then the next job a pop-up come up asking if you want to delete the job of not, if the job is kept or deleted it does not give the out of paper warning like it does when print around is turned off. If the printer is 100% out of paper then it should give the paper out warning if Print around is turned on or not as no jobs can print at it.
So we need a way for it to print around stuck jobs, but still stop printing if it is out of paper instead of saying 'held for resources'
Hello cld,
Have you tried adjusting the policies for when resources are unavailable from the Embedded Web Server?
We have VersaLink B610s and B605s. I want to buy 42 more this summer to replace the last of my old 5550s, but I need to get this problem fixed first.
With Print Around turned off, the printer will show an error when it is out of paper on Centreware and displays an error which in turn stops Pharos from sending any more jobs to it. But sometime it is not out of paper and it just gets stuck on a job for no reason and does not give any errors so users still send jobs to it and lose their print quota they paid for. The user can send that same stuck job again later and it will print fine, so I don't think the problem is with the job.
If we turn Print Around on, some jobs still get stuck but it auto deletes it and no big deal, but then when the printer runs out of paper if does not give any errors for Centreware or Pharos to know it is out of paper which again people keep sending more jobs to it and lose their print quota.
I have 87 remote printers total and we use centreware every hour of every day and need the printers to either show a message when it gets stuck on a job or say it is out of paper when print around is turned on. Please help before I have to switch brands.
