Hi pearsonsjp,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. The information available for CentreWare Web can be found on the support site for CWW. You will also find documentation on that site. Also you can call support and ask to speak to 2nd level to see if they may have any additional information.
So I'm the database systems engineer for my company and I'm just trying to get a grasp on the Xerox databases. (XrxDBCWW as noted in the subject, and XrxDBDiscovery)
I'd like to get some information (if there is any) on the structure. I know a data dictionary is way too much to ask for, but I'll take what I can get. Specifically I'd like to know if anybody out there has some input on valuable information I could extract from the databases directly (So far I've found that the "printer" table has a good amount of useful information).
To take it a step further, I'd LOVE to be able to design some queries, or even an app, to make sweeping config changes. Right now the guy who administers the printers has to make changes to each printer on the network when needed. For example, we are about to shut down a DC that contains the "Scans" folders for all the users at home office and remap that folder to a new DC. He needs to log into each home office printer and remap that scan which will take about a half hour. Not a monumental task, but if I could find where this config information is stored, if it is stored in the database at all, and change that string for all printers in a certain IP range - that would be a huge time saver now and in the future.
I have a feeling this config data is probably stored locally on each printer - but it's worth a shot.
