I have accidentally deleted a file that we do frequently, this morning and would like to recover it if possible.

Re: Recover deleted files

Fast and short answer:

They're gone

Longer answer:

Very unlikely unless you have snapshots/backups.

A job named Flip-The-Switch.pdf with a job ID of say 1241, would have been in

File System/var/spool/XRXnps/inQ

and it would have been a file called 1241.dat

So you would have to find the dat file named by the JobID, and since the Freeflow software doesn't use the Trash bin (use the rm command), you almost certainly won't.

Re: Recover deleted files

I came to this thread because I had the same problem. I scanned lots of very important documents in a public folder, but I was unable to download them due to some urgent assignments. When I came back to download them the next day, I found nothing. Obviously, someone has deleted them, but I'm yet to know who did this. Regardless of the knowledge of who did the deletion, I felt a terrible pain me to learn here that "they're gone". I can't get these documents again, and I needed them badly!

Is there some miracle to get these files back? Can anyone please help!?

*If* you know the file names and the location of the "public" folder you *may* be able to retrieve them.

But you will need a working knowledge of Solaris and the Terminal or at the very least, have good Google skills.
